Help and FAQs about our calendar printing services
Below are some of the frequently asked questions we receive. If you can't find the answer to

- How many of my photos can be included?
- We will need 12 different images, one for each month of the calendar. For the cover you can supply one additional image, if you wish, or alternatively we will create a cover montage using a selection of your 12 images. Please rename the images by month so that we place them correctly.
- What if I don't have any photos?
- No problem. Just browse through our image library and choose whatever pictures you like. Our library images are charged at £0.00 each.
- Can I see a proof?
- Certainly. Once we have placed your images, we will email you a full colour PDF that you can view on a computer. If you want to make any changes, we will charge £25, including a new PDF proof for you to approve. Naturally, any blunders that we make at the proofing stage will be rectified free of charge.
- How quickly will my calendars arrive?
- Once you have approved the artwork PDF proof we'll send you a printed copy for approval, you will receive them within 7-10 working days.
- Can I supply my own files for printing?
- Certainly. Preferably we would like you to send us high-resolution
PDF files. If you are unable to provide PDF's, we can handle just about any file type,
although we may need to charge additional design fees to covert the files into PDF's. But we'll
contact you prior to undertaking additional work and seek your approval.
- What size should my images be?
- To ensure the best possible results, the pictures you supply should be high-resolution (300-350dpi at 100% print size). Images from web pages are normally too low-resolution. If you are unsure, please contact us.
- What form should I supply my logo in?
- It's best to supply a logo in the generic file format of the application that was used to create it. We prefer editable EPS, high quality JPG or high quality PDF files.
- How can I send you the files?
- You can send a CD, DVD or floppy disks. Or you can email us. But the best method is to upload your files via our website, which transmits them directly from your computer to our servers. With large files, this method is more reliable than email. Instructions for uploading are on the Contact us page.
- If I take pictures with my digital camera, what setting should I use?
- Just use the 'Normal' setting. Choose an image size that's at least 1280 pixels x 960 pixels (at 72pixels/inch). That should create a file size of between 800KB and 2000KB, direct from the camera as a jpeg. Although that size will be too large for the calendar, it will enable us to reduce the size to fit the template, which will greatly improve the image quality.
- If I scan my images, what setting should I use?
- We recommend that you scan your images at the highest resolution available on your scanner, because this will pick up the most information. Once you have scanned the image, crop it as necessary and then resize it to A5 (210mm x 150mm), and adjust the resolution to 150dpi. Finally, save it as a JPG at the highest quality. This will compress the file for easier transmission.
- What if I don't have a digital camera or scanner?
- No problem. We can scan any photographs you send us, at a charge of £5 per image. Naturally, we'll return the originals to you.
- Do the calendars come with envelopes?
- Because many customers prefer to provide their own, our prices do not include envelopes. But we can supply them if you wish: please contact us for a quote.
- What will it cost to post my calendars?
- A3 Calendar (C3) - Postage: £1.52p each
A4 Calendar (C4) - Postage: £0.60 each
Slim Line - Postage: £1.52 each
CD Case Calendar -Postage: £0.60 each
All postage costs are quoted at standard post office rates.
- Are the CD calendars supplied with cases?
- Yes, the cases are supplied and included in the price.
- Are the calendars professionally printed?
- We use state-of-the-art digital printers, the quality is exceptionally high: in fact we believe that you'll be impressed!
- How do I pay?
- After completing your online order, you will be redirected to our
secure servers, where you can pay with a Master Card, Maestro/Switch or Visa Delta credit or debit
card, which will be charged prior to delivery. You may also pay by posting a cheque, which will
be cashed on receipt. All orders must be paid in full before delivery, unless you have an approved
account.
- Is there a deadline for placing calendar orders?
- We are happy to create calendars which start with a different month to January you wish. Please give us a call to discuss. We are happy to take orders at any time of the year.
- What other print services do you provide?
- Although Flare Calendars specialises in calendars and Christmas cards, we can provide many other print services including; stationery, brochures, books, banner displays, branded merchandise etc. More information is on the About
